Lowell Routley, Ph.D.

Martindale, Texas

During more than 40 years of client counseling, Lowell Routley witnessed the resilience of the human mind and spirit to heal in spite of horrific violence, torture, and mind control. His counseling skills grew through post-graduate education, but he attributes his greatest learning to have come from the victims themselves. Courageous people of all ages, seeking answers to be freed from mental and spiritual bondage, demonstrate that the Creator endowed the human mind with abilities to preserve their Creator-given identity.

In 1988, Dr. Routley began training therapists to work with victims of extreme trauma using The Core Integrity Model© that he had developed. He expanded the Core Integrity Model© to other areas of counseling in 2005. The foundation for this model is two-fold:

  • first, neurocognitive scientific research provides an understanding of how the human mind is directed by Core consciousness; and
  • second, it illustrates that faith in a personal Creator empowers healing.

Dr. Routley finds congruence between faith and science, claiming that scientists are observing the Creator’s handiwork even though they may not acknowledge Him.

Lowell’s education in counseling began at Greenville College and continued at Southern Illinois University, University of Iowa, and Walden University. His knowledge of the Bible began as a hearing-impaired child challenged to memorize verses from seven years of age. He learned more than 3,000 verses giving him an overview of scripture that he uses as relevant in his counseling and teaching ministry.

It is Lowell’s opinion that faith community is very important in healing and growth for every individual. A pilot study with a small group of four couples became the impetus for his series: COMING TO AWE, Finding Identity. [See the books below, available on Amazon.] Lowell hopes that you will experience the awe that comes from knowing your Creator and who He intended you to be.

Lowell was married to Terry, his beloved wife of 55 years, until the Lord took her home to heal her suffering in December 2022. Lowell and Terry are parents to two adult daughters and four grandchildren.

“Faithful is He who called you, He will make it happen.”
